Lets be honest, we are all busy, whether in our day to day, or in our heads, or ingulfed in our hobbies. We always have to be doing something, and even when we are trying to do nothing, we have our phones, our social media, anything that comes across our mind at a click of a button. Can we do nothing? Can we disconnect? Is there such thing as quieting ones mind?

Try this!... now bare with me... but read this, then do this. See how long you can last. Maybe 30 seconds, 1 min, 3 mins, 5 mins.... 10 MINS??? No pressure, whatever you feel comfortable with. Now if you're up for it:
-Sit back in your chair, or lean against something, maybe even lay down if that is comfortable for you.
- Now take a deep breath!
- Now take a few more, try to inhale and exhale through the nostrils if that is comfortable for you, find an even count, inhale for 5 seconds, then exhale for 5 seconds.
- Once you have found that even breath, keep thinking about that breath. imagine its your favorite color and you are watching it fill your lungs on the inhale and travel out your nose on your exhale.
- Now see how long you can sustain breathing and only thinking of these inhales and exhales.
Let your mind be clear, if thoughts travel in, notice them but let them leave again, bring yourself back to that breath. Nourish those lungs.

How did you do? How long did you last? Did you find yourself relax? Tense up?
Exploring quiet with breath, can be hard for many, but I also think beneficial for anyone.
Whether you think you nailed that experiment or you think you failed horribly, you didn't! No one is perfect and we all wander in mind and spirit day to day, hour to hour. We can not see or feel the benefits of stillness until we practice. Through practice we find there is always room for growth, always more to learn.
